Remains of 21 Humans Found at the Construction Site of the Museum ‘Territory of Terror’
Searchers revealed remains of 21 people at the construction site of the Museum Complex ‘Territory of Terror’ situated on Chornovola Avenue, 45, in Lviv. Six skeletons were identified as belonging to German prisoners of war, the rest belongs to civilians. All the people were inmates of Transit Prison # 25, which functioned on this territory in 1944–1945.
Estonia Called for Establishment of International Tribunal to Investigate Crimes of Communism
Urmas Reinsalu, the Estonian minister of justice, appealed for establishment of international tribunal, designed to investigate crimes made by communist regimes. He announced this the day before the conference ‘Criminal Legacy of Nazism and Communism’, which took place in the Museum of Occupation, Tallinn. It was organized on the occasion of European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism. Seven countries supported the minister’s initiative, including Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Georgia, Mirror Weekly informs.
British Encourage Teenagers to Visit a Museum by Virtual Reality Headsets
Teenagers are going to be encouraged to visit the British Museum in London by virtual reality headsets. These devises will let the visitors see ultrarealistic 3D picture of a Bronze Age roundhouse filled with representations of the museum’s treasures, ‘The Telegraph’ informs.

Among all the museums in the world, the museums of London are googled most often, ‘The Telegraph’ informs. The Science Museum, the Natural History Museum and the British museum (London, the UK) are the top-three. The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art ranks fourth. It is followed by the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC.
Film about Red Army Men’s Burials Destroyed by Soviet Authorities is Created in Lviv Region
A short film ‘The Ravaged Memory’ about the Battle of Brody (1944), when Ukrainian soldiers fought in the warring armies and about the destruction of a military cemetery in a village Zozuli (Zolochiv district, Lviv region) is being shot.
The first scene has been already filmed, the film’s director and the head of the Searching Society of War’s Victims ‘Memory’ Lubomyr Horbach informs our museum.
Japan Marks 70th Anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki A-bombing
55 thousand people from 100 countries attended a ceremony in Hiroshima dedicated to the 70th anniversary of atomic of the city, and 6,7 thousand people visited the similar ceremony in Nagasaki, «The Japan News» informs. Relatives of victims started to ring the bells at 8:15 in Hiroshima and at 11:02 in Nagasaki. Then attendants prayed for the souls of the victims silently.
New Memorials To Be Established in Former Jewish Quarter
New space for memorials is going to be organized in the centre of Lviv. It’s an aim of a project ‘Space: Jewish History, Common Heritage and Responsibility’, which was presented on August 5 within the framework of a programme ‘Jewish Days in the City Hall: Common Heritage and Responsibility’. The project consists of the Golden Rose Synagogue restoration, honouring and beautification of Beth Midrash and Great City Synagogue on Arsenalna Square which were destroyed during the Holocaust.

A 98-year-old English and American historian Robert Conquest died in the USA. He studied crimes of the communist regime in the Soviet Union. He was among the first authors who explored Holodomor in Ukraine soundly and described it in his book ‘The Harvest of Sorrow’, ‘Voice of America’ informs.

Evidence of Nazi Medical Experiments Found in French Museum
Jars and test tubes containing the remains of Holocaust victims were found in a museum of forensic science at the University of Strasbourg, Associated Press journalist Lori Hinnant reports. The finding consists of human tissue specimens taken from Jews murdered in a gas camera. The people were used for Nazi medical experiments before their deaths.
